Roaring Atlas

The lions and lionesses of the great Atlas were hunted into extinction, or at least that is what the old myths told us. The Moroccan national female football team proved to us that it is nothing more than just that, a myth. Lionesses are recognised to hunt in groups by taking advantage of their numbers, and eleven Atlas Lionesses were enough to get us a place in the 2023 Women’s World Cup Australia and New Zealand for the first time ever, after hunting Botswana Zebras 2-1 during the quarter finals of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco. Our Atlas felines were and still undefeated in the tournament after leading Group A of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) with 3 wins against Senegal W, Burkina Faso W and Uganda W. The lionesses are still roaring in the competition after securing tickets to both the World Cup and the Final of the WAFCON to face South Africa. The Atlas Lionesses of Morocco are considered as the most powerful candidate to win the WAFCON championship in Morocco, and why not even win the 2023 Women’s World Cup that will take place in Australia and New Zealand.

With the supportive roars of the home crowd, the Atlas felines flexed their striking “huntings'' in the past games, and earned the respect of their fans. They have also influenced many Moroccan females in the goal of positive attitudes’ growth and increase participation levels of girls and women and liaise the profits of gender equality for all.
